SEE IT: Yankees fans grab Mookie Betts, pry ball from his glove in World Series Game 4

There’s fan interference, and then there’s what happened Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.
Brazen Yankees fans sitting along the right-field foul line teamed up to pry open Mookie Betts’ glove and remove a ball the Dodgers’ star had just caught at the wall in Game 4 of the World Series.
The shocking incident occurred in the bottom of the first inning, when Yankees leadoff hitter Gleyber Torres sliced Ben Casparius’ 1-0 fastball down the foul line.
Betts leaped to make the catch, and one fan grabbed the right fielder’s glove while it was still on his left hand. Another fan then grabbed Betts’ right hand as the original fan removed the ball from Betts’ glove.

Umpires quickly ruled it to be fan interference, and Torres was called out.
Both fans were thrown out of the game, an NYPD officer involved with their removal told the Daily News.
It was the second instance of fan interference involving Torres in the 2024 World Series.
In the ninth inning of Game 1, a fan reached over the left-field wall at Dodger Stadium and caught a long drive off of Torres’ bat. It was ruled a double, and the score remained 2-2. The Dodgers went on to win that game, 6-3, in 10 innings.
